His journey began in New York, where he served as a public school math teacher for eight years, imparting mathematical knowledge and inspiring students to achieve their potential. Following his tenure in the classroom, Dr. Burton advanced to the role of Assistant Principal for Mathematics and Public Relations at the same high school, where he further influenced the academic environment and community engagement.

Before his impactful work in high school education, Dr. Burton honed his leadership skills as a middle school principal at a large inner-city school in New York.
